Come to our next event at the Park!

Daubenspeck Community Nature Park is a rare greenspace haven of fourteen-plus acres at 8900 Ditch Rd. in the city of Indianapolis, Indiana -- a place where the community and nature can enhance each other.

This land was donated for public use by the Daubenspeck family more than 50 years ago. The Metropolitan School District of Washington Township owns the land and leases it to the community in a unique public/non-profit/community partnership. Community members from all over the area formed the non-profit organization, Daubenspeck Community Nature Park Inc., which is 100% volunteer-run and funded by individual donations, corporate support, and grants.

As the park grows, you can enjoy a peaceful walk on the grass trail, through six-foot tall native prairie grasses and wildflowers that have been planted and restored there. Admire the new 15-foot native oaks and other trees being planted to help reduce pollution, and provide habitat and a shady spot to sit. Listen to the harmony of frogs as they devour insects at the seasonal wetland area boardwalk. Look out over the prairie from the observation deck, like the resident Red-Tailed Hawk does when no one is there.

And yes! You too can help! There are many ways to get involved and make a difference.
