2010 Indiana Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence

October 19 -- The Daubenspeck Community Nature Park was awarded the
competitive 2010 Indiana Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence
today in the Land Use category. The awards were announced and presented
at a ceremony at the annual conference of the Association of Indiana Solid
Waste Districts in Indianapolis.
DCNP Board members Deb Watson and Greg Gerke accepted the award,
along with Phil Smith, Director of Operations for Metropolitan School District
of Washington Township (MSDWT). Current and founding DCNP board
members also attending included Bruce Tehan, Rob Dean, and Ron Watson.
Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Commissioner
Tom Easterly presented the award made from an 11-pound solid piece of
Indiana limestone.
