About the event
Bats get a bad rap – They’ll get in my hair! They have rabies! They’re vampires! But in reality, these shy, gentle, nocturnal creatures are among nature’s most beneficial animals. (We especially appreciate how they consume lots of mosquitoes and other insect pests.)
Join us on a very special night hike that will debunk myths and unveil a fascinating world.
Your guide—Ryan Slack, ecologist from Civil & Environmental Consultants—is one of the few people in the state of Indiana permitted to handle these endangered creatures. He’ll carefully capture some of Daubenspeck Community Nature Park’s bat residents so you can get to know their true beauty up-close. This is a program you won’t want to miss!
