Join us on October 8th, 2022 for our annual Fall Volunteer Work Day! We have some great projects that we are hoping to accomplish this year, and need your help. Some of the projects include:
Repair damage done to the observation deck in the prairie. The floor joists of the observation deck has come apart from the header. Work will need to be done to jack up the floor joists and reattach them to the header with joist hangers.
Boardwalk repair work. The prairie boardwalks on the north and south have broken or missing treads. New treads need to be cut and screwed into place.
Utility shed roof repair. We have several holes that have developed in the roof of the utility shed. New roofing plywood and shingles will need to be installed. Need to assess if old roof can be saved.
Collect wildflower seeds. The park is planning a plant seed sale in the spring. We will need volunteers to walk about the prairie collecting and tagging seeds.
